Standard Operating Procedure for Quick Die Change

The connector stamping process refers to stamping a thin metal strip into a desired shape in a die by a large stamping machine. In the connector production process, how to quickly and easily change the mold is very important to the efficient operation of the connector stamping equipment.

The standard operating procedure for quick die change is as follows:

1. Move into the mold. Using a crane or forklift, move the mold into it. The die transfer arm installed on the front of the press can easily carry in and out of the die outside the press.

2. Push the die onto the backing plate of the punching machine. Slide the die onto the punch pad. The mold can be easily pushed by the guide rollers of the transfer arm and the guide rollers on the die lifter set in the T-slot (U-slot). Die lifter supply oil pressure to open.

3. Make the die in close contact with the backing plate of the punching machine. Operate the button to lower the die lifter so that the die is in close contact with the backing plate of the punching machine.

4. The setting of automatic clamping device. Move the slider to the lower limit, push the automatic mold clamp set in the T-shaped groove laterally, and let the mold clamp close to the mold.

5. Clamp the mold. Operate the button of the electric control box to make the automatic mold clamp clamp the mold. After confirming safety, take out the transfer arm.

6. The mold change is over. Move out the mold, operate the button to make the automatic mold clamp release the mold, and then the mold can be easily moved out.
